For Self-Service, campus computers, GCCCD email, and Library materials, your username is either firstname.lastname@gcccd.edu or firstinitial.lastname@gcccd.edu.

Your username was provided in the Welcome email sent shortly after applying to the school. If you do not know your username, Admissions and Records can look you up.

Note: Students applying after April 2025 will use their first initial; students enrolled prior to April 2025 will use their first name.

For Canvas, your username is the same as email/Self-Service, without the @gcccd.edu.

Note: There can be exceptions to the above. Please see our Passwords and Accounts guide for details.

Your password for Self-Service is the same one used for accessing GCCCD email, campus computers, Wepa printing, and Library materials. It must be changed at least once a year.

For brand-new students, the password was sent to you in a Welcome email. You will be required to update it upon first use.

The Canvas password format is displayed on the (except on mobile). If you forget your password, you may use the Forgot Password? link on the login page to reset it.

For Canvas, click on the Forgot Password? link on the page.

To reset your GCCCD email, Self-Service, campus computers, and Library databases password, please use the . To use the tool:

  1. Enter your GCCCD email.
  2. Follow the prompts on screen.
  3. You will receive a confirmation in your personal email upon success.

Accounts are locked after too many invalid login attempts are made. They are unlocked automatically after a short period of time. Further invalid login attempts will cause your account to lock again.

Note: If you attempted to log on to the Wi-Fi network but received an error - immediately forget the network and attempt to log in on a campus PC.

If you know your password, wait ten minutes and try again. If you do not know your credentials, check our Technology Guides or search for username or password in our Frequently Asked Questions. If you need help, contact the Help Desk.

Yes! Your GCCCD email is also your login for multiple resources including Self-Service, campus computers, and the Library databases.
